UK online centres are community based - they could be in an
internet café on the high street, in a public library, a college, a
community centre, a village hall - some are even mobile. They have
been designed to meet the needs of local people who would otherwise
not have access to computers. There are now over 6000 UK online
centres across the country.
Centres are staffed by a combination of highly-skilled staff and
volunteers - many of our volunteers were originally visitors. When
you visit for the first time, you'll have a chat with someone from
the centre to find out what you need to know to get started. You'll
be working away before you know it!
